Dancing Policies
Muriel’s Dance Center
Policy Sheet
2010-2011
I. TUITION/FEES
·
Tuition is due by the 10th of each month and is considered past due after this date.
If paying after the 10th, the $10 late fee is due with your tuition.
If the late fee is not received with your payment, the $10 late fee will be charged to your account.
All tuition checks must be payable to
Muriel’s Dance Center.
Statements will be given on the first week of each month.

Dance Sessions will run from September through the beginning of June.
All Holidays and emergency days recognized by the Iberia Parish School Board will also be kept by our dance school, unless you are otherwise notified.
·
No credits or refunds will be given for class not attended.
All charges, including revue fee, costume fees, and May tuition will be due prior to the dance performance.
Failure to pay these fees will result in your child not being allowed to participate.
II. DRESS CODE
·
Dancing attire is mandatory for ALL students! No t-shirts or street clothes!
·
Beginner & Intermediate classes
must wear a leotard and tights.
Dance attire may be of any color.
Jazz pants, hot pants, or skirts are allowed.
·
Ballet shoes must have an elastic strap and must fit snug.
·
Jazz shoes (for Intermediate, Junior, and Advanced classes)
·
Tap shoes
·
All shoes can be purchased at The Ultimate – (337) 234-9646
·
Dance shoes
should not be worn to and from class.
·
All students should have their names written in their shoes.
·
Cover-ups should be worn to and from class.
·
Hair must be pulled back!!
·
There will be no gum chewing allowed in class.
·
I expect
everyone to follow these rules!
III. PERFORMANCE
·
The culmination of our year’s dance training will be highlighted by a performance held at Westgate High School.
You will be given the revue date at the beginning of the dancing year.
·
Costs to cover facility rental, special event insurance, backdrops, tickets, etc. will be assessed before the revue.
This is the “revue fee”.
·
Additional information regarding the performance will be sent to you at a later date.
·
Costume payments will be due in installments.
You will be given additional information at the beginning of the dancing year.
IV. GENERAL RULES
·
Students should arrive 5 minutes before class begins and should wait outside of the dancing room until the previous class is finished!
·
Students who are waiting to be picked up must wait inside of the lobby.
NO ONE is allowed to wait outside!
·
Please note that I will often send notes home with your children.
Please remember to check their dancing bags to assure that all notes are received.
·
NO CELL PHONES IN CLASS
